We are working to translate the documents and materials being produced at Occupy Wall Street into as many languages as possible. In this blog we post all final translations, categorized by language and type of document/materials. We currently have translators working in twenty-six different languages. We are a small but committed working group here in NYC, with a network of over 170 international translators working with us. For the most part we deal with translations out of English into other languages, but sometimes we have worked in the other direction. We can always use more help with our work, especially with organizational matters here on the ground.
Weekly meetings of the Translation Working Group are held every Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Whole Foods upstairs café in Tribeca (270 Greenwich St.). Come join us to learn about our work translating the materials of the General Assembly and communicating with our international contacts. It is also possible to Skype (ows.translation) into our meetings if you cannot attend in person – though we’d love to get to know you. If you’re new to our group, we recommend you check in with us by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you’re coming, so we can keep you in the loop in case people are going to be running late etc. in any given week
If you would like to join our working group, or have a request for translation, please email email@example.com as well.
